To make full use of the gas and reduce underground environmental pollution incoal mine from engine work, this thesis probed the way which gas was employed aspower fuel and diesel for ignition based on flameproof diesel engine. It shows that gasdiffused in the tunnel consumed, hidden trouble from gas accidents decreased anddisel engine emmisions was reduced in this way.Through theoretical analysis on the working process of diesel engine, theengine’s computational physics model was divided into intake system, exhaust system,cylinder system and turbocharged inter-cooled system. Physicochemical properties ofthe gas were introduced in detail, and the gas fuel model was perfected in the softwaremodel library. On the basis of the engine’s structure and operation parameters, theinternal combustion engine module parameters were set up. The performancesimulation model of LN490MZL flameproof diesel engine was established byGT-POWER software. The model was verified based on experiment data, and itindicates that there was higher precision with just5percent between simulationresults and test data.Effect on engine combustion process, emission characteristics and externalcharacteristics when flameproof diesel engine was under conditions of different gassubsititution rate, fuel injection advance angle and compression ratio were simulatedby software. The variation regularity of pressure and temperature in cylinder, effectivepower and torque, smoke and NOxspecific emissions was summarized. The optimalcompression ratio and fuel injection advance angle under various conditions weredetermined.Bench test of flameproof diesel engine fueled with different quanitity of gas wasaccomplished. Mixed with gas in the intake system of engine, gas composition andcontent were measured by exhaust analyzer. Compared with simulation results, testdata showed good agreemen. Furthermore, the feasibility of flameproof diesel enginefueled with gas was verified.
