With the sustained and rapid development of China’s economy, the increasinglyprominent contradiction between energy supply and demand has become the bottleneckof sustainable social and economic development of our country, which is a direct threatto our national economic security. Therefore, the energy saving and emission reductionare imperative.As a basic industry of national economy, the road freight industry is one of theprime energy consumption industry, which has great potential in energy conservationand emission reduction. In recent years, the department of transportation managementfor energy saving and emission reduction has taken a series of strong measures, andachieved certain results. However, a complete evaluation system has not beenestablished yet. Therefore, how to make an accurate analysis and calculation on theeffect of energy saving and emission reduction has an important theoretical significanceon the establishment of road freight industry energy-saving and emission reductionevaluation system and on the strategy making within the industry.In this paper, a comprehensive and systematic analysis on the factors affecting theenergy saving and emission reduction of road freight industry is conducted, whichprovided the basis for the statistical analysis method of energy saving and emissionreduction of road freight industry, as well as the sampling plan and managementmeasures. At the same time, the calculation model and method for energy saving andemission reduction of road freight industry are mentioned. Also the empirical researchon road freight industry energy-saving emission reduction in Jinzhong Shanxi provinceis conducted. The research measures the effect of energy saving and emission reductionof road freight industry, and gives related countermeasures and advices.
