In severe high-cold and high-altitude area, harsh climatic conditions combined with theincrement of heavy traffic loads and traffic channelization have led to a lot of seriousproblems to the pavement,such as low temperature cracking and high temperature ruttingdisease, the stability and durability of ordinary asphalt mixtures suffered severe test. However,study has shown that adding appropriate amount of reinforced fiber can effectively improvethe performance of asphalt mixture. In this thesis, under the condition of bad weather alpineregion asphalt mixture as the research object, a new kind of self-made environmentallyfriendly mineral composition fiber is added to asphalt, while the asphalt mixture compositiondesign and road performance research is studied. Based on the experimental project and putforward the construction technology of mineral composition fiber asphalt surface layer.In this thesis, the technical performance of the mineral composition fiber has beenevaluated and the application requirement has been put forward. Using DSR and BBR tostudy the high and low temperature rheological properties of asphalt binder;4kinds of asphaltmixture (AC-13/16, SMA-13/16),2kinds of road fiber and2kinds of asphalt are used, underthe condition of different fiber volume optimum asphalt aggregate ratio of asphalt mixturewere determined by the Marshall test, wheel-rutting test, low-temperature beam bending test,immersion marshall test and freeze-thaw split test are conducted in varying parameters tostudy the high temperature stability, low temperature crack resistance and water stabilityperformance of mineral composition fiber asphalt mixture, as well as the proper addingamount of fiber in the AC-13/16and SMA-13/16asphalt mixture is determined for0.3%and0.5%, and at last, the modification mechanism of mineral composition fiber is discussed. Testengineering further validate the fiber in alpine region has good applicability and using effect,research results can be helpful to the alpine region of fiber asphalt mixture compositiondesign reference, and lay the foundation for the promotion and application of mineralcomposition fiber asphalt in alpine region pavement engineering.
