The height of the modern construction is increasing as it is developing faster and faster. Atthe same time its functional requirements and structure system are also becoming more and morecomplicated, many new structure forms are appear constantly. It brings huge challenge to civilengineers. The design difficulties are base on a complex high-rise building which fromengineering practice. This paper first reviews the development of the high-rise building and the complex high-risebuilding and Introduces the engineering general situation, then the design difficulties of thecomplex high-rise building are analyzed, including the overturning and the obliquely intersectingtubular joints of the structure, also gives the results of the research.Through analysis, the main conclusions are as follows.(1)The design of the complex high-rise building satisfies the requirement of the standard, and it has been taken reinforcement measures according to its situation, it has good ductility andcan also satisfies the goal of seismic resistance.(2)As the complex high-rise building has the problem of overturning, the structures areprestressed to increase the stability of the structure. The result indicates that it is good to imitateprestress by using temperature stress. It is good to enhance the ability of against overturning asthe shear walls are prestressed.(3)the obliquely intersecting tubular joints was analyzed with the large generally used finiteelement software ABAQUS, it shows that the finite element analysis can provide an analysismeasure with least cost during the engineering practice. The result shows that the sizes of themembers are reasonable, the deformation of the joint is small, and it is more reasonable to add acompress plate than without a compress plate. The joint remain overall elasticity, and it is notyield.
