In recent years, with the rapid development of high-rise buildings, there are more andmore multi-tower building with big underpan in the city. Because of the mutation of verticalstiffness, multi-tower building with big underpan is complexity of dynamic behavior withpoor seismic behavior. It has attracted widely designers’ attention due to its complexdynamic behavior and poor seismic behavior. A typical two-tower structure with bigunderpan is selected as the calculating model, the seismic behavior analysis is computed bysoftware SAP2000. Mainly completed work is several points as following:(1)Firstly, research background and research content were introduced about in the paper, and then some the seismic performance evaluation methods in structure engineering fieldwere expounded.(2) Secondly, Pushover analysis and its related knowledge were introduced in the paper.what’s more, the mainly application method and steps were elaborated about Pushoveranalysis.(3) Finally, two-tower structure at Guilin with big underpan was selected as thecalculating model. According to the structure construction drawing, SAP2000was used tobuild up analysis model of the structure. The modal analysis and response spectrum analysiswere firstly calculated by SAP2000, based on the vibration modes which were obtainedfrom modal analysis. Pushover analysis was used to obtain the corresponding displacementdata and the inter-story drift under two load combination. Then the development and changeof the plastic hinge in the column and beam end was analyzed. At last, the seismicperformance of structure according to these data was evaluated. The evaluation results show that seismic performance of the building can satisfy thestandard requirements.
