Since in recent years, lifting machinery has been a major role in China’s economy. But in ourcountry for lifting machinery monitoring and safety evaluation is not perfected, and the most of cranedid not have real-time monitoring evaluation system, even sick to run. Based on the requirement ofsafety management and health monitoring system for crane in our county, in this paper the large cranegearbox fault diagnosis and monitoring system are developed.Firstly, the status of the crane machinery fault diagnosis and monitoring of development arebriefly introduced.And then we studied the principle of fault diagnosis of crane. Support vectormachine is conducted for vibration gearbox model. The FFT was used to process the signal of thecrane gearbox vibration from the time domain into the frequency domain, and the frequency domainwas divided into several parts, and each part of the energy value was calculated. The energy value isused as SVM input feature values. Based on support vector machine gearbox fault diagnosis andmonitoring of early warning model, we analyzed the data on Matlab, and showed SVM caneffectively identify gearbox wear, pitting and broken teeth fault.In the development of monitoring and early warning systems, we describes the use of VC to getaccess to the vibration signal through the USB interface method, using Matlab to generate COMcontrol technologies for Matlab and VC6.0joint to study vibration data processing, the Fouriertransform and support vector machine was joined in monitoring system. This paper extract otherparameters also is carried out, software is designed to make VC6.0able to communicate with the PLCand the data of PLC can be extracted, an experiment is carried out to test the monitoring systemcapable of PLC data acquisition and gearbox fault diagnosis function. Further, in order to effectivelycollect the data store, a database has also been developed for data storage.
