Compared with other motors, Switched Reluctance Motor stands out with such features assimpler and firmer structure, lower cost, better error tolerance, normal function in higher temperatureand bigger torque in low speed. SRM have been widely used in industries field right now. SRM haslow field coupling between phases, and phase winding independent, fault tolerance is strong; numberof stator and rotor teeth match flexibility, good for working as multiphase machine.With the development of power electronics, it is possible to realize multiphase inverters,whichremove the limits of phase number by power system. Multi-phase induction machine drives haveattracted a considerable amount of interest due to its advantages over conventional three-phasedrives,such as lower torque pulsation and better fault tolerance.Multiphase machines split the motorpower across the higher phase number in order to realize a high power system by reducing theper-phase converter rating.First, this paper introducts a six-phase12/10structure motor。Then the Ansoft finite elementmodel is built. SRM inductance function and flux linkage function are derived from Ansoft which isused for electromagnetic field analysis.Multiphase SRM system use more Mosfet, line number of winding become more and complexityin position sensor, system cost is high. Aiming at these disadvantage, this paper proposes a modularstructure plan for multiphase SRM, by the plan, the complex multiphase SRM system is split into alower number of module method. For example, windings of six-phase SRM can be divided into twoparts of three-phase winding,using a set of independent three-phase drive control drive system.A comparative study of magnetic characteristics and dynamic performances for the dual-channelSRM with different type of winding connections was made. The two kinds of connection types wereSNSN…… and SSNN……. The dynamic performances were as speed1000rmp、1200rmp and1500rmp. Simulation results show that, six phases SRM which use SSNN type of winding connectioncan give higher torque with single channel model.Finally, the system is implemented by digital control chip dsPIC30f3011. The test on the systemcan be concluded that the modular structure plan for multiphase SRM has good steady speedperformance, and can be widely used in multiphase SRM.
