The aero-engine control system is a complex multi-variable control system, and hardware in loopsimulation is an essential part in the development of the control system. The delay and network packetloss caused by the system architecture will affect control system real-time capacity and stabilityduring control system design and simulation system running.Firstly, the delay and packet loss between the main parts of the control system are tested. Somesolutions to reduce the network delay are proposed. The receiving UDP datagram mode ofmanagement and engine model based on event-driven is determined. Test results show that theoptimized system loop delay is greatly reduced.Secondly, the control system with delay and packet loss is modeled as asynchronous dynamicsystem with rate constraints on events. The sufficient condition to the exponential stability of thecontrol system is derived from the Lyapunov stability theory. The results of numerical simulation testwith different delays and packet loss rates show that the control system stability is mainly affected bythe packet loss rate. The system approximate maximum decay rate is solved through geneticalgorithm.Finally, a kind of real-time simulation system based on real-time extension and reflectivememory is studied and its general architecture is analyzed. The system interrupt latency is tested andthe flag is used for analyzing the feasibility and the procedure of synchronization reading-writingdata. The system real-time capacity is validated by the close loop control test. Results show that thisreal-time simulation system based on real-time extension and reflective memory has convenient use,good real-time performance, and its simulation step could be sub-millisecond.
