The diversification of electrical power equipment features and the high precisionrequirements make the variable inductor have such a wide range applications. Forinstance, automatic detection system or some of the rectifier inverter module used inswitching power supply system areas, FM tuner circuits, the variable reactor foravoiding the passive filter mismatch problems, and the arc suppression reactor used forthe neutral compensator coil grounded system of medium voltage distribution network,etc.This thesis first describes the research and development of commonly usedelectromagnetic materials electrical steel sheet. At the same time, the changes, arcsuppression mechanism and the evolution of controllable reactor and arc suppressioncoil are also analyzed. In this thesis, the electromagnetic properties of magneticmaterials including nonlinear and anisotropic are made an analysis in detail.Furthermore through mathematical analyzing, simulation and experiment, thecommonly used AC reactor’s nonlinear characteristic is verified based on the core’snonlinear electromagnetic properties. On the other hand, considering the difficulties ofoptimization in inductors designing, the author analyzes the relationships between theall constraint conditions and parameters of AC inductor, and finally presents anoptimization algorithm based on4D visualization technology. Through optimizing theconstraint condition of the inductor design requirements, respectively, the optimaldomain of structure parameters is obtained. By the application of this optimizationdesign method, only one circulating calculation is needed for getting the inductormatching all the constraint conditions, to some extent, so that the blindness of inductordesigning can be avoided.Based on above analysis, this paper proposes a variable reactor structure, whichcontains a rotatable core column structure and often is applied to the arc suppressioncoil. Then analyzed the two structures which consists of structure of the opposite sexand heterosexual orientation by using magnetic circuit and electromagnetic finiteelement simulation software Ansoft Maxwell, so that the relationship function which itsinductance changes with the rotation angle, the density distribution on the conduction ofdifferent rotation angles and the inductance variation curve. Finally, this paper creates a variable reactor prototype of this structure with rotatingcore column using oriented silicon steel sheet, and validates its effectiveness andfeasibility. In addition this structure provides a new thinking way for varactor’s designfor Peterson coil and a new solution for improved the reliability of power supply in thepower system.
