Nowadays,fixed ratio reducer has been widely used in electric vehicle, thetransmission has simple structure, however, it presents a high demand on propertiesof driving motor, which increases production cost of vehicle. The paper studiedmulti-speed transmission for pure electric vehicle, developed a clutchless automaticmechanical transmission (CLAMT). Main contents and innovations are as follows:1. Based on the CLAMT applied in a pure electric car, the paper analyzed thesystem of CLAMT, stated its working principles, and designed the overall project ofCLAMT.2. In order to achieve optimum match between CLAMT and powertrain system,the powertrain system scheme of electric vehicle was made. Based on vehicleparameters and performance requirements, the paper made the selection of drivingmotor and power battery, then determined the gear information and transmissionratios of CLAMT. The selection and parameter design of body and gearshiftmechanism of CLAMT were finished, and the strength and rigidity check of CLAMTwas made.3. By the use of CRUISE software, the paper conducted simulation ofperformance and handling, economy of the car applied in CLAMT, verified thereasonableness of powertrain system scheme.4. The rationality of CLAMT was verified in ADAMS software. The virtualprototype of CLAMT was set up in SolidWorks and ADAMS software, and theanalyzing of kinematics and dynamics of CLAMT was also made, which proved therationality of transmission design.5. The shift quality of synchronization phase in shifting process was researched.The paper established dynamic model of CLAMT in shifting process, analyzedinfluencing factors of shift quality of synchronization phase, and studied influencerules in shifting process towards shifting force and accuracy of motor speedregulation.Test and simulation results show that: the developed CLAMT in the paper hasstable performance and has some value for design reference and promotionapplication.
