Along with the increase in vehicles and the rapid development of traffic,there is agrowing demand for road traffic information control. Intelligent TransportationSystems is one of the means to solve urban traffic problems, Intelligent transportationsystem(ITS)apply advanced information technology、data communication transmissiontechnology、electronic sensor technology、electronic control technology and computerprocessing technology to the entire transportation management system.Intelligenttransportation system aims at abating traffic congestion, reducing traffic accident, andincreasing road user’s convenience and comfort.It represents the developmentalorientation of roadway and traffic.This thesis studies emphatically on the traffic detector of intelligent transportationsystem. When vehicle goes through the loop, the traffic detectors gather the data ofoscillation frequency and complete classification of vehicle types by analyze thedifference of frequency characteristics. The classification statistics of road vehicle canbe obtained in time.The Sense Coil Vehicle Detector. Because of its low cost,theadvantages of high-precision, all-weather adaptation work, etc, making it one of thecurrently used widely detector.This thesis describes theory model of loop detection technology and proof thetheory’s correctness and feasibility by application. It spends a minor time for vehiclesgo across single loop, while the system should response fast and accurately. So,thissystem makes use of STM32F103R8T6microprocessor with ARM Cortex-M3kernel,which have high-powered process ability and large storage space. Completionof the function and structure of hardware circuits using Protel vehicle detection systemand circuit design,and the oscillation of the system composition and shaping circuit,the power supply circuit, a communication circuit module will be described.Finally, thepaper uses pattern recognition method,based on vehicle data collection,sampling thewaveform feature extraction and pattern matching technology models to determine themodels of vehicles traveling information.Compared with conventionaldetectors,improve system stability under harsh working environment,improve thedetection accuracy.The loop induction detector which is based on ARM and automatic refreshingfrequency reference algorithm, not only improve the detection accuracy, but also provides a reliable foundation for applying to next practice.
