The transmission tower for large tower type, complex stress, single anglecomponent can not meet the requirements of design and high strength double anglecombined cross-section component is more and more used in the transmission tower.Design method of the current relevant standards and literature on such a component isscarce, in order to provide a basis for such a component on the safe use of transmissiontower, the mechanical performance of Q420high strength double angle combinedcross-section double internode component is studied in this paper.The bearing capacity test of Q420high strength double angle combinedcross-section double internode componentis carried out, including five group of axialcompression specimens and six group of eccentric compression specimens that is twokinds. Get the mechanical performance and failure mode of the component, the testresults show the influence of the slenderness ratio of component and eccentricity of loadon bearing capacity. The test results also reflect the effects of slenderness ratio andeccentricity on bearing capacity and failure mode of the component.On the basis of experiment, a model isbuilt by the finite element software and thecorrectness of the model is verified. The parametric analysis of double internode axialcompression and eccentric compression member is made. the infuuence of the limblength, flange thickness of angle steel, the arrangement and number of filler plate, thelength and position of lateral support, the slenderness ratio of component, the directionof eccentric load and eccentricity on the bearing capacity of component is studied andthe change rule of the bearing capacity under these influence factors is summarized.Calculation method of the cross-section component carrying capacity of domesticand international norms is summarized. On the basis of comparision betweenthe bearingcapacitycalculatedaccording to the domestic and international norms, design methodsare proposed for the engineering application. The bearing capacity calculated accordingto the proposed calculating formulas is compared with test value and value of finiteelement, which proved the certain applicability of the proposed formulas.
