In recent years, the large-span shell got a large number of applications, such as thegym, industrial buildings, museums, railway stations and so on. Although large-spanstructure generally adopts steel structure at present, the wood is also a very goodmaterial that can be applied in the large-span structure because of its light weight andadornment performance.Whatever materials of reticulated shell structures, they are sensitive to wind due tolight weight, small stiffness and frequency concentration characteristics. A lot ofresearches about large-span structures are based on quasi-steady assumption thatconverts wind speed to wind pressure, which is needed to discuss for the large-spanstructures. The research of the overall stability about the reticulated shell especiallyabout single-layer reticulated shell is aimed at steel reticulated shell structure, but thestudy of timberwork single-layer reticulated shell are few research. This article ismainly based on Eighty fivemeters-span reticulated spherical wood shell as an examplein Tianjin happy valley, studies the wind vibration response and overall stability of thiswood reticulated shell.Firstly based on white noise filtering method (AR method) which could solve theproblem of the inlet of fluctuation wind, the article does the research on obtaining thewind pressure time-history by large eddy simulation (LES) on each node of reticulatedshell. After that we could calculate the wind vibration coefficient of each node on thereticulated shell by the transient dynamics method. According to a wind tunnel test, wewould like to compare analysis result with experimental result, and find that they fitwith each other very well. So it is show that this method is feasibility. Then we coulduse this method to discuss the influence of different vertical load, damping, boundaryconditions and the load distribution of the reticulated shell on the wind vibrationcoefficient of shells. For overall stability, this paper calculated timberwork reticulated shell bucklingcharacteristic values, bearing capacity of the stability of the zero defect and bearingcapacity of the stability after introduction of initial defects under half span load andtotal load in order to discuss the influence of the nonlinear, initial defects and loaddistribution on wood reticulated shell bearing capacity of the stability. This article adopts the analysis method and contrast of various influencing factorsabove, discusses the laws of the wind vibration coefficient and the overallstability for similar structure, in order for as a reference of similar structural design.
