The quality of coating on aircraft carrier has a big influence on the possibilityof the carrier landing’s success. The resistance to impact of coating is one of themost important property. A test machine has been designed to simulate theinteraction of coating and arresting hook during landing.Considered the velocity and cost, an impact machine has been designed thatcan simulate the relative speed. The machine includes the framework, bumpersystem and so on. The simulation has been done to estimate the stress duringlanding by ANSYS/LS-DYNA.The signal test system considered with the mechanical system is designed torecord impact stress. The sensor is IEPE acceleration sensor, and the dataacquisition card is PCI-1706U which is made by Advantech. The signal can beshowed on the computer by the program written with LabVIEW.An experiment of the signal test system is done by a pendulum tester. The datais processed and analyzed.
