As one of the main weapons in the modern air combat, Air-to-air missile is playingan increasingly important role on the battlefield. The full use of data link can help air-to-air missile weapon systems get target information, extend guided distance, improvethe attacking accuracy, and give effective strike at the enemy through the battlefieldinformation network. Coding technique is an indispensable part to improve theperformance of data link system. Based on the air-to-air missile data link system, thisthesis focuses on the study of channel encoding techniques.RS code and CCSK are widely used in data link system. The encoding anddecoding methods of RS code and CCSK are studied in this paper. The performancesof the two coding techniques are also studied by theoretical analysis and computersimulation. Simulation results show that the RS code and CCSK can improve theperformance of data link effectively.In recent years, MIMO and OFDM technology have become the focus of wirelesscommunication. MIMO technology can increase the system capacity greatly withoutextra spectrum resource and transmitting power. OFDM technology is able to deal withmultipath delay and improve spectrum efficiency effectively. For the communicationof aircrafts and other command platforms of air-to-air missile data link system, RScode and MIMO-OFDM technology are combined in this paper. Because MIMO-OFDM technology has the problem of high Peak-to-Average-Power Ratio (PAPR), weuse SLM technique to deal with this problem and an improved algorithm of sideinformation (SI) power allocation technique is proposed. SI is protected by properpower allocation in this method. Simulation results show that the proposed techniquegives a better BER performance. Finally, the performance of RS-MIMO-OFDM isstudied with the use of22MIMO-OFDM system. The simulation resultes show thatthe BER performance of data link is improved greatly by using RS-MIMO-OFDM.
