Multi-field coupling problems can be classified into two types: strong coupling andweak coupling. The coupled phenomenon in pavement engineering is seen everywhere andthe type is numerous. What kind of coupling depends on the actual need and the currentresearch level. The coupling relationship is existing between stress field and temperaturefield for general condition, the effect of temperature field on stress field is strong coupling, the effect of stress field on temperature field is weak coupling, and the weak coupling canbe ignored, both belong to the one-way coupling; However, the weak coupling effect ofstress field on temperature field can’t be ignored, both belong to the two-way coupling. Therefore, the predication and quantization and evaluation of coupling effect are studiedsystematically for the weak coupling effect is necessary. The thermoelastic coupling effect is studied from the two aspects of theoreticalderivation and numerical simulation, and the calculation model is built base onthermoelastic coupling theory using the numerical analysis, mathematical statistics andMatlab programming method, and the calculation model is visualized through Matlabprogramming to quantize coupling effect. From the theoretical derivation, the prediction andevaluation method of two kinds of coupling effect (moment coupling effect and periodcoupling effect) are put forward combined with analysis of specific example, modifiedcoupling coefficient and impulse coupling coefficient as the prediction indicators, relativepercentage difference and relative impulse percentage difference as the evaluation indicators, and prediction model and regularity analysis of some indicators (impulse couplingcoefficient and relative impulse percentage difference) are studied. In addition, modifiedVerhulst model is proposed to get more accurate predictions of the impulse couplingcoefficient learn from the modified ideas of Malthusian model and using PSO method, andprecision of the modified model is improved by analysis of the example.A model for calculating the thermoelastic coupling effect, prediction indicators, evaluation indicators and prediction models of typical conditions are proposed, and weakcoupling effect is systematically studied for the first time.
