In recent years, China’s civil aviation industry develops rapidly, the quantity of flights and thesize of fleet are increasing. At the same time, the service ability and quality improve significantly.However, due to continued growth in air traffic, resulting in terminal airspace congestion, double thepressure of energy saving, frequent traffic flow control, a large number of flight delays and otherissues. Moreover, according to the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan development of civil aviation", it can beexpected in the coming period, China’s civil aviation will continue to develop at a high rate. So, in thecase of flight traffic continues to grow, how to improve operating efficiency of air traffic especially inthe terminal area has become an important topic of China’s civil aviation transportation industry forsustainable development.Terminal airspace is the major bottleneck in air traffic, it directly affects the efficiency of airtraffic operation, and the utilization of the runway is the main limiting factor in terminal airspaceoperations. Currently, first come first service (FCFS) strategy is the primary means of realistic airtraffic control to take, although FCFS is simple and reflects the principles of fairness, but it can’timprove the service efficiency of the runway, resulting in a waste of resources. Especially in the peakhours of flight operation, it can’t give a reasonable and effective solution, resulting in flight delays,controllers pressure doubled. In view of this, in-depth study of sequencing and scheduling of arrivalaircrafts not only can improve the utilization of the runway, terminal airspace operational efficiency,but also has important theoretical value and practical significance to ensure flight safety and achievegreen flight.This paper researches on sequencing and scheduling of arrival aircrafts based on aircraft4Dtrajectory prediction and using some optimization algorithms, at the same time builds a prototypesystem. First, because aircraft4D trajectory prediction is the basement of conflict detection,sequencing and scheduling of arrival aircrafts, a4D trajectory prediction model is built based onBADA and aircraft intent, while the real-time meteorological wind data is added to the predictionmodel in order to improve prediction accuracy. Then, a fast conflict detection algorithm based onlongest common subsequence (LCS) and aircraft4D trajectory is proposed. After that, the problem ofsequencing and scheduling of arrival aircrafts is solved using branch and bound algorithm, combinedwith alternative route, speed governing and landing runway reallocation scheduling policies. ShanghaiPudong Airport radar data samples are used to simulate4D trajectory prediction, conflict detection, sequencing and scheduling algorithms. Finally, based on the above theory, a prototype system ofsequencing and scheduling of arrival aircrafts is designed and developed using object-orientedprogramming techniques, combined with the general principles of software development. ShanghaiPudong International Airport radar data is used to verify the system and the result meets real-timerequirements. The System has a friendly interface and is simple to use. It can provide effectivesolutions of sequencing and scheduling for arrival aircrafts. |
