Some components are added to the variable cycle engine for the cycle process to beadjustable. The bypass can be changed to have two performance advantages, big thrust inhigh-speed state of turbojet engine and low fuel consumption in the low-speed state ofturbofan engine. Because of the different structure and the increase of the adjustablevariables, new control system should be developed to conduct multivariable control andsimulation. The potentiality of variable cycle engine can be plenty exerted byperformance seeking control. It’s the inexorable trend of scientific development toresearch on variable cycle engine.Influence on the engine of the flight conditions and geometric variable componentsare analyzed through the simulation on component level model of variable cycle engine.Genetic algorithm is added to the model for better control and simulation research.Multi-objective performance seeking control is conducted for the variable optimization intwo cycle model of the engine.The design scheme of the control system is put forward considering the engineperformance and structure characteristics. Control simulation of variable cycle engine inclosed loop is conducted by using basic control law and improved PID algorithm. Acontrol plan is advanced. Simulation has conducted in progress of flight model switch ofthe VCE. The advantages and disadvantages of the control system are analyzed.A real-time performance seeking control scheme of multivariable control is putforward. Model is modified to simulation. Performance seeking of adjustable variablescan be optimized in real time. The coding process of genetic algorithm is improved. Theperformance of variable cycle engine can be exerted fully. The applicability of thecontrol system is verified.
