| As the increasing number of cars leading to more serious traffic jams, an apparent yet fancyidea is to let the car fly. There are two ways to do so. One type is using a fixed wing on the car togenerate lift just as the propeller-driven aircraft. One other is using the highly revolving ducted fanto generate a thrust upwards to counterpart the gravity. But they all have weak points. The firstcannot takeoff vertically. It needs a long runway to takeoff and cannot be used to solve the trafficjams problem. The other kind is poorly performed in aerodynamic efficiency and endurance. Afterreviewing the research home and abroad aiming at producing an efficient and short runway flyingcar, this paper proposed one using wing to generate lift and ducted fan to generate the thrust,which capable of takeoff and land vertically. Considering our research is in its primary stage, theproject made a model instead of a real one to validate our design.First of all, according to the flight requirements, the shape of flight vehicle is designed.Second, we meshed the flow field in software ICEM. Third, the govern equation is solved usingFLUENT and flying parameters such as aerodynamic forces are obtained and analyzed. Fourth, wedesign the structure according to the strength requirement. At last, we manufactured and tested theflying vehicle, which proved our design is feasible and can be used for further study. |
