The evaluations of aircraft flight performance are important both during aircraft design stageand during operation phase. This thesis is aimed to meet the needs for the field length and routeperformance evaluation of transports design and operations. The aircraft flight performancecalculation methods are discussed from the aspect of theory, and with the help of Java computerprogramming technique, the corresponding performance computer programs are developed toachieve the goal of rapid calculation of performance. The thesis focuses on the follows:1) For the needs of the different transport design stages, three different level analysis methodsfor take-off, landing and cruise performance are presented. The first one is the empirical methodbased on historical data; the second one is approximate method based on some assumptions; thethird one is detail method.2) According to the performance analysis methods, the takeoff performance module, climbperformance module, cruise performance module, descent module and landing performancemodule are developed with the use of the Java, and then all the modules are put together to form acomputer program for the aircraft performance analysis, which can calculate takeoff and landingperformance and route performance.3) The influences of primary parameters and operational parameters of the transport on flightperformance are presented by use of the computer program. Under certain conditions, the bestflight parameters are identified by using carpet plots. The results indicate that the computer program can be used easily and rapidly to evaluate thefield length and route performance of transports with satisfied accuracy, and can be used as a toolfor transport preliminary design and operation analysis.
