Network systems are treated as a special kind of system considering itscomplexity, dynamics, distributedness and transport properties. Consequentially, thereliability of complex network has become a popular issues. Recently, some researchershave already started to discuss the insufficiency of evaluating network ignoring missionloading on the network topology and suggested that the evaluating should from twoaspects, no-mission condition and mission condition. However, due to the huge scaleand complexity of network system, analytical algorithm and field test can’t meet therequirement of the research. Therefore, take tactical communication system asbackground, network reliability evaluating method via simulation test was studied inthis dissertation.The main result and contribution of this dissertation are as follows.1) A user oriented tactical communication network model was put forward.According to the definition, the evaluation criteria of network reliability is to meetnetwork users’ requirements or not. Therefore, a user-oriented tactical communicationnetwork generating model was put forward based on fully analysis of system’stopology properties. A fixed backbone-layer network generating model and a dynamicaccess-layer network generating model are constructed. This model can truly reflect thereal communication system and meet the evaluating requirement.2) To solve the key difficulty in simulation test, an extended upper bound ofall-terminal reliability was proposed assuming that both nodes and links areunreliable. To evaluate the basic reliability of network system using simulation test,especially a dynamic network, the calculation of parameters is the critical issue. Thisupper bound showed high efficiency and high approximation degree in the simulationtest of dynamic tactical communication network basic reliability evaluation.3) Based on a two-layer network model, the mission-oriented networkreliability evaluation method via simulation test was proposed. To describe themission loading on the network, two different methods of mission-network modelingwere put forward base on the mission characteristics of tactical communication network.Then a two-layer network model was used in mission sampling whose upper-layer is themission-network and lower-layer is the physical tactical communication network. Basedon the assumption of homogeneously nodes, the communication between node-pairs areindependent. Thus, the mission-sampling is a kind of link-mapping frommission-network to tactical communication network. However, based on the assumptionof heterogeneously nodes, the communication among a group of nodes are relevant.Thus, the mission-sampling is a kind of node-mapping form mission-network to tacticalcommunication network. The simulation result showed that this simulation test method is a simple but effective method to evaluating the mission reliability of tacticalcommunication network.
