Mountainous regions have complex geographical environment and diverseecological resources, which is both a constraint and an opportunity to the construction.And the greatest impact on the expansion of the urban space comes from themountainous terrain. Mountainous terrain is so complex that cannot be viewed solely asa whole. Mountainous terrain is in the presence of various types with geography,ecology and spatial structure particularity, which there’s currently a lack of research onstrategies under the guidance of such special terrain. The development is mostlyconcentrated in the low mountains, special terrain in traditional planning is generallyavoid from reconstruction. But today the construction technology and the disasterprevention methods is well developed, and in the condition that the urban constructionland is exile when we must take advantage of special terrain, we should view them as anatural resource and make good use, turn terrain disadvantage to environmentadvantage. There is a class of special terrain called gully, which is widely distributed atplateau and hilly regions of China. Gullies are still difficult to develop and protect in themountainous cities, research into the gullies in urban construction and utilization hasconsiderable significance. How to control and apply gullies, make full use of itsecological and spatial characteristics to guide urban design, is the main problem of thisthesis.The thesis in the “anti-planning†philosophy guiding gives priority to specialterrain, and combines green space planning theory with system theory and couplingtheory, starts from the ecological qualities and spatial characteristics of the specialterrain, to establish green space system. And according to the conditions of the specialterrain, divides special features to locate the green space in the mountainous terrain ofurban pattern, and makes different way of utilization in the cities. Then establish greenspace system with gullies and introduce in the urban category, according to the couplingof green space system and urban construction space system, build models of differentposition of gullies. A comprehensive evaluation is made by the method of game andsuperposition inside the model, thus seek a scientific way to shape the city, build layout,organize traffic and process spatial form. Then use urban design of Jinjiang District as apractice target, use gully green space system to contact landscape, build ecologicalnetworks, create urban characteristic style, and conclude proposed design strategies in land use, public space, transportation and landscape.In terms of spatial characteristics, gullies are narrow and shape with vertical space,split the urban land. Compare to the traditional “central greenâ€, the gully green spaceappears in the edge of the land, which forms adjacent “edge green†between twoconstruction lands, effectively improve the ecological environment, develop thefeasibility of mountain-building, and protect the city without features demise. Thestrategies thesis proposes make gully terrain guiding the development of urban space aspossible, which has a positive meaning of the mountainous cities seeking for theconstruction methods to adapt to the natural environment. |
