| More than two-thirds of land area in our country is the mountainous topography,especially in the western region, which mostly locates in the earthquake-prone highintensity zone. The structure on the scape with unequal level of foundations is thetypical structure form of mountain architecture, refers to the same building at thebottom of the interface are placed at different elevation of the ground surface, and theelevation difference could be big enough to set several floors. When this structure inhigh intensity zone needs to set isolation layer, the usual method is to set the basementwith big stiffness to arrange the isolation layer in one level. This project did not onlybring the issue about material waste, but also have a significant effect on the availablearea of the building.This paper is based on Datang Bikou hydropower station group office building of"5.12" earthquake reconstruction. Considering the characteristic for arrangement in thesame elevation isolation layer, the proper design plan with the isolation layerarrangement in different elevation is explored. Then, the seismic performance andisolation performance of models with different stiffness in the drop part are analyzedand summarized. Finally, advices are proposed on the design method about this type ofstructure.As the foundation is on different level, there exists a limitation for applying theconcept of layer. Therefore, MIDAS GEN, which is a software about the space trussmodel of general finite element analysis, is adopted to analyze isolation performanceand seismic performance. Furthermore, this paper summarizes the practical engineeringdesign experience, and provides references for design similar structures in the future. |
