As the first part of airbreathing vehicle which interacts with air, the performanceof inlet has great effect on scramjet’s working in order.For dynamic process such asvariable free stream condition or relative moving between parts, the dynamiccharacter of inlet has important effect on the whole engine and manipulation ofvehicle.This dissertation contains five chapters, and the content is as follows:The first chapter indicated this dissertation’s necessity and meaning based asurvey of research progress of hypersonic inlet and overset.The second chapter provided discrete form of3-D Navier-Stokes equationcontaining mesh veloctiy, fellowd by a discrete form of boundary condition.The third chapter simulated a hypersonic vehicle with variables free streamcondition using2-D and3-D、quasi-steady and unsteady. Besides getting self-startmach number, this chapter analyzed dynamic character of inlet when Mach numberwas increasing. After that, this chapter also compared the sameness and differencebetween2-D and3-D or quasi and unsteady.In order to simulate closing and opening process of inlet cowl, the fourth chapterdeveloped a overset grid method which had been coupled into AHL3D software. Atlast, this chapter simulated and analyed dynamic process of inlet when the cowl wasclosing or opening.The last chapter reviewed and summarized the whole contents and indicatedsome future work which needs going on.
