| Arch dam is a kind of spacial shell.The water pressure on dam surface is transferred to foundation rock in both bank by arch and the reaction force of aboundment helps to maintain its stability. Arch dams have lots of advantage,for example.overload ability, anti-seismic capability, saving engineering materials and so on. It is very common to construct arch dam in suitable site.In this paper,with the consideration of uncertainty of foundation deformation modulus, the shape optimization of arch dam is studied.The main content of this paper is as follows:1. Current research status of arch dams optimal design and enggineering robust design is introduced, in addition, research methods of robust design are classified and explained separately.2. Construction method of the elliptical linear arch dam shape is introduced. Mathematical models of deterministic shape optimization and robust shape optimization of elliptical linear arch dams are given.3. The construction method of response surface is expounded. Based on the uniform experimental design method, the mathematical model of maximum finite element equivalent stress for arch dams response surface is established. Considering the uncertainty of foundation deformation modulus,the maximum finite element equivalent stress of BaiHeTan arch dam is calculated.4. The shape optimization of BaiHeTan arch dam is taken as an engineering example. Both deterministic optimization with designed foundation deformation modulus and robust optimization considering the uncertainty of foundation deformation modulus are studied.5. The work of this paper is summarized, and the development trends of robust optimization of arch dam shape design are discussed. |
