The Research On The Rural Housing Pattern In The Waterfront Areas On The Outskirts Around Poyang Lake

Marginalization in city areas has been fading with the rapid development ofurbanization, during which urban-rural integration and urbanization of the outskirts arethe upsurges. Meanwhile, as the construction of various high-tech development zones,financial centers, and logistic development zones has become a tide, the rural waterfrontin the outskirts of cities are gradually swallowed. Inevitably, urbanization has broughtgreat impact on the waterfront rural areas, following which are a variety of controdictionsand problems. However, the construction of the rural waterfront in the outskirts of cities isconcerned with the development of the cities, furthermore, the water front is an essentialresource for the city’s devopment. Affected by sustainable concept, people pay moreattention to the environment and the particular status of waterfront. To alleviate thecontradiction between the two is the research objective of the current thesis.Based on the special environment background of the waterfront rural areas aroundPoyang Lake, the author tend to discuss the rural housing patterns in the area from threeaspects: the housing patterns, the natural environment, and humanistic environment, fromwhich the logical relation among them is analyzed. And then a feasible design schemesuitable for the area is to be discussed. The thesis will focus on the reseach of ShangVillage of Yao Lake in Nanchang, Jiangxi to propose the content and direction of thehousing design depending on the waterfront environment. Through the analysis of ShangVillage, the author hopes that refering theories and materials available for the housingdesign in the waterfront rural areas around Poyang Lake will be acquired. Accordingly, adesign concept which is fit for the local areas is to be explored to reduce the controdictionbetween urbanization and the waterfront rural areas aiming at retaining the waterfrontrural areas and make them an important part of urbanization. Eventually, the cityexpresion with Jiangxi characteristic can be seen from these areas and the waterfront ruralareas will be a beautiful scenery line at the entrance of the city. As for the improvement ofthe city environment, enriching the regional view and refining the housing construction ofthe waterfront rural areas, the current research is fairly significant.
