Study On Illumination Design Of Urban Water Front Landscape

As the source of human life, water plays a vital role in every regard of material and spiritual life in the development of human society. Hence, there is a strong sense of psychological dependence human society shows towards water resource all the time. With the accelerated pace of modern urbanization construction, while the psychological dependence doesn’t fade away, which is best illuminated in the construction and development of urban water front space. A more comprehensive and systematic request on reconstruction of urban water front space in a new period is put forward by the booming development of science and technology develop, the increasingly quickening construction of economy as well as human being’s growing material and spiritual culture needs. Urban water front space, the foundation and soul of modern urban construction, shows an increasingly important status in the whole urban building system. There is a great variety of ways to tell the beauty of city. The colorful lighting and night scene, for instance, is an intuitive embodiments, which is also a key feature to evaluate economic developmental level of a city. Considered as an important window for modern city foreign economy, culture and thought communication, water front space undertakes a vital task to reveal the social morality, cultural character and historical culture of modern city to the outside world, which also indicates the extreme importance of illumination of urban water front space. People’s raising demand of spiritual cultural level and light source has not confined in the functional lighting, but is more inclined to improve the public’s living and working environment via a lighting source, aiming to meet people’s need at the beauty of space, which is also the origin of landscape lighting design.On the basis of the above situation, this paper firstly takes the illumination design of urban water front landscape as the research object, that is Haixinsha segment of PA Ti in Pearl River Basin, Guangzhou. Then, the paper performs a detailed analysis of the illumination design of urban water front landscape through the following several aspects, namely, the history of illumination and the related basic theory, status and feature analysis of illumination design of water front landscape in modern city, the discussion on establishing scientific illumination design of urban water front landscape, analysis of the pattern and illumination current situation of water front landscape in Pearl River Basin, case analysis of PA Ti in Pearl River Basin to Haixinsha segment, as well as the current problems and future development of water front landscape. In the end, it comes to a conclusion that illumination design of urban water front landscape plays a significant part in promoting the development process of water front landscape and even the cultural and economic communication of the whole city.
