As a critical component of modern industry, how to avoid boiler water-wall from explosion, become an inevitable question ahead us. In the past, traditional water-wall measuring systems can only realize existing defect detection, while metal magnetic memory enables us to carry out stress concentration zone evaluation before the defect formed. What’s more, because of the Non-contact and no,coupling agent characters, there will be a very bright application further for MMM theory.The target of this project is to develop a NDT system based on MMM theory. And the key steps of the research including:design an original detection system to sample leakage magnetic field produced by defects on metal pipeline; Build experiment environment by setting up defects on X70 steel board, and verify MMM theory by implement defect identification by magnetic gradient threshold algorithm; Invite high-speed NDT system, which is consisted of three specify devices, to achieve efficient detection for different shape water-wall; Testing NDT system by conducting relevant experiment on real water-wall pipeline.This paper first give a brief introduce about the principal of MMM theory and the related research both in home and aboard, then make a comparison about the land scope of the different NDT technologies. After that, there is a detailed explanation about the hardware, software design and the relevant experiments about the new NDT system based on MMM theory.
