Developing of China’s auto industry, automotive safety technology is increasingly being valued by the people, the new car and car collision energy absorbing structure of device is also being promoted and accepted by people. Screw shear energy absorption system ,as a new type of absorption energy systems, the use of bold innovative thinking of the thread cut energy absorption principle, is used in automotive collision energy absorbing system. Study has been done for 5 years, energy absorbing device thread absorption principle has its unique advantages, for the structure and properties of maturing low cost, and it has the excellent application prospect.This paper analyzes the vehicle and the crash energy absorption device research status and its importance national and abroad , energy absorption devices for thread cutting energy absorption characteristics of the vehicle structure in the form of a thread cut energy absorption devices and small passenger cars compatibility, this paper carried out the following studies: use of numerical methods using empirical data of previous studies of shear energy absorption device of thread mechanical properties and energy absorption characteristics, according to the system were characterized by a small passenger car models and model discussion thread absorbing system and the matching of small passenger cars feasibility analysis, installation on the vehicle energy absorbing system with a separate screw thread absorbing a slightly different mechanical characteristics of the system, install a threaded model of energy absorption devices mechanical properties far superior to the system is not installed on the vehicle model, in its evaluation on the acceleration still is outstanding. Finally, it is proposed the screw device and vehicle energy absorption matches the key technologies that need to design a set of energy absorbing devices with thread that matches the energy absorption device fixture so that threaded systems and vehicle energy absorption system can perfect fusion. From a practical view, the design of a devise to meet the requirements, simple structure, easy to process, and can facilitate the removal of the thread absorbing device designed fixture, therefore, using the traditional design method and the finite element method design a set of energy absorption devices clamp , and finally,compared improved model and the original model, validate the compatibility of the design of the new thread shear energy absorption device.
