As a lightweight, high strength, high-performance materials, carbon fiber are widely used in aerospace, automotive manufacturing, construction, railways, telecommunications, medical equipment and other industries. With a large number of new aircraft and automobile production and the "low-carbon" request in our daily life, the demand for carbon fiber has a significant increase year by year. In December 2007, the market research indicated that the world demand for carbon fiber would be doubled between 2006 and 2014. Although there are many advantages of carbon fiber, but there is still an unavoidable problem-carbon fiber is not degradable. With the increased application of carbon fiber composite, increasing pollution problems is more and more serious. In Europe, there is nearly 1,100 tons carbon fiber composite waste per year. Therefore, the-recycling of carbon fiber is a highly attractive market, not only as a guide to economic impact, also because of its positive impact on the environment.Currently, for the reuse of carbon-fiber composite waste, the major industrial countries all have their own research and development system, aiming at creating the most efficient and most economically viable reuse system.So far, the study about the recycle of carbon fiber include crushed carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), pyrolysis, catalytic decomposition or decomposition in a vacuum en6ronment, fluidized bed processing, etc. To some extent, those methods can realize the reuse of carbon-fiber composite waste. However, the carbon fibers thus reused are mostly in the form of fabric. For these recycling carbon fibers, the commonly used method is to make short fiber re-use, but there is no competitive advantage in performance and application area. How to make better use of the carbon fiber reinforcement? According to market demand, if reused carbon fiber can be applied to make semi-finished products or other reinforced structure, it will have a more competitive advantage, so as to expand the application of carbon fiber recycling and improve the reuse of carbon fiber. The reuse system of carbon-fiber composite waste is designed based on existing mechanical system in this thesis. For the split system of carbon fiber reinforcement,2 sets of mechanical systems have been designed:carding & combing mixture mechanical system, mechanical systems and transport carding system. Regarding the scattered carbon fiber bundles after splitting, three arranging systems are designed:air method, semi-closed V-groove method and the integrated vibration system, with the purpose of carding carbon fibers into continuous carbon yarn.Finally, a complete simulation of mechanical systems is successfully built, based on large number of theory analysis and simulation test, but further research is still needed to realize industrialization.
