A combination of hydrodynamic and mechanical seals is designed to apply for liquid-solid two-phase flow pump. Sealing is developed which adopt two combinations of the fluid dynamic seals and mechanical seals and then the results of numerical simulation are carried out. The sealing area were simulated in the two-phase flow field in order to conclude that flow characteristics influence on sealing ability, and by the engineering application of prototype, the results showed that: The seal leakage decreased, sealing capacity greatly increased.The study mainly deals with:1. Determine the combination methods of sealing, assembly drawing and structural drawing were designed and calculated for meeting the required conditions.2. The sealing models of pump meshed by Pro/E, and internal flow is respectively simulated on three different typical flow rates that are1480rpm,1000rpm and300rpm.The relative parameters, including the standard k ?εviscous model and SIMPLEC pressure-velocity coupling are set in FLUENT.3. Analyzed and processed the simulation results then the sealing performance are obtained. The sealing capacity of combination of hydrodynamic and mechanical seals are greatly increased by way of experimental verification by the engineering application of prototype.The seal of solid-liquid two-phase flow pump are usually simple mechanical seal or packing seal and fluid dynamic seal, so there are more worn and leakage problem. Therefore this topic about the liquid-solid two-phase flow pump is designed by the particularity of the combination of auxiliary impeller and mechanical seal, in order to obtain a good sealing effect, and alleviate the burden of the overhaul and maintenance cost, then the sealing life greatly improved. At last this method applies for the design of liquid-solid two-phase flow pump seal structure and provides some reference.
