With the development trend of high efficiency and high-power, the key components in the shearer, such as Travelling Wheels, are required a high reliability, but the service life of Travelling Wheels made in china is generally short. Travelling Wheels damaged suddenly in service will induce the interrupt of mining equipments, and it will have a great effect on the production efficiency that those are repaired or replaced by new wheels. In order to reduce the frequent of which travelling wheels damaged are replaced and improve the efficiency in mining process, the lifetime of travelling wheels in the shearer in the design process is improved as much as possible. With those reasons, the travel mechanism in the shearer of the traditional two Travelling Wheels have been improved, and the new shearer of four Travelling Wheels was created. The key components in the travel mechanism in the new shearer were imitated and analyzed by using the finite element method.The process of mechanical transmission and concrete structures in the new shearer are introduced, which provide some theoretical basis for the design of a new four-wheel Shearer.Three-dimension drawing software have been used to establish the model of the shearers’ Travelling Wheel, the Pin Rail and the Guide Foot,and conduct the force analysis of the whole shearer in order to lay a foundation for finite element analysis of key parts as haulage mechanism with four Travelling Wheels on shearer.The different tooth profile of haulage mechanism with two Travelling Wheels on shearer and four Travelling Wheels mechanism on the bending stress and contact stress distribution have been analyzed, and also analyzed the stress situation of the Pin Rail and the Guide Foot,and some suggestions for improvement are provided.The finite element analysis of the key components of haulage mechanism with four Travelling Wheels on Shearer have been carried out, and analyzed smaller force and betterreliability for the four-wheel traveling haulage mechanisms’ Travelling Wheels compared to the two Travelling Wheels, and the Cycloidal tooth’ Travelling Wheel is bearing bigger and the Involute Travelling Wheel is gotten the smaller force. The dangerous place of the Pin Rail and the Guide Foot are obtained in this paper, and provided some improvement opinions and measures.In conclusion, the force situation of the key parts of haulage mechanism with four Travelling Wheels on shearer are assessed to provide a theoretical basis in the design of traveling mechanism and on research of haulage mechanism with four Travelling Wheels on Shearer.
