Nesting drill is one of the main tool to product crystal sapphire rods. Owing to nesting drill mainly rely on import, the price is very expensive before. In recent years, the increasing domestic demand of sapphire rod has promoted the rapid development of the domestic nesting drill. However, Due to the short time of introduction, the relevant process parameters is still lack. The deformation in the welding process of the matrix lead to unstable product quality and low production efficiency. This paper researches the problem of welding deformation in the production process of a certain company, which optimizes the method of the welding process and parameters by numerical simulation. The main research work as follows:In view of the problem that the coaxiality of the base and the connecting tube is hard to guarantee in the process of assembly, the orient scheme of gasket and outer cylinde which had high location accuracy is determined based on the contrast analysis of two kinds of clamping scheme. Depending on outer cylinder of two rows of bearing that are arranged in parallel to ensure axial location and depending on gasket to ensure the radial location. In this way, the clamping system is able to meet positioning requirement simple and quickly and to improve base and connecting tube assembly precision and welding quality.A model for the welding analysis of nesting drill matrix was Established. To determine the optimal groove form, Y groove and V groove welding residual stress and deformation situation was simulated. Getting the deformation tendency of matrix and the influence of the connection tube thickness for the welding deformation.To optimize the skip welding sequence, the welding residual stress and deformation under different welding sequences are analyzed. Studing the effects of different welding speed, welding current and welding voltage for the welding deformation.With the aid of finite element software software and using orthogonal experiment method to optimize each parameter and through the intuitive analysis to find out the optimal combination of each parameter.
