Supported nickel phophide catalyst is a novel hydrodeoxygenation catalyst. In the process of preparing catalysts, promotors may have a significant effect on the the structure and properties. This study is carried out under our earlier work. A small amount of noble metal Ru(0.2 wt.%) or Pd(0.125 wt.%) was added into the catalysts. The effect of several promotors on the hydrodeoxygenation performance of vegetable oil over modified catalysts was studied in this paper.TiO2-modified catalyst TiO2-Ni2PRu/α-Al2O3 was prepared and its hyrodeoxygenation performance was studied in this paper. The results showed that TiO2 could lower the reduction temperature of the precursor TiO2-Ni2PRuO/α-Al2O3 in which the reduction temperature of P-O and Ni-O bonding were lowered by about 30°C and 120°C respectively. TiO2-Ni2PRu/α-Al2O3 showed excellent hydrodeoxygenation performance. During its catalytic hydrodeoxygenation test, content of residual reactants in liquid products was calculated to be less than 1 wt.%.Si O2 modified catalyst were prepared and their hyrodeoxygenation performances were studied in this experiment. Silica sol was impregnated onto the Ni2PPdO/α-Al2O3 by incipient-wetness impregnation method and crystallization step was adopted to prepare SiO2 modified catalyst. 80-495-Ni2PPd/α-Al2O3 was prepared with the crystallization temperature and reduction temperature being respectively 80°C and 495°C The result showed that 80-495-Ni2PPd/α-Al2O3 had the best hydrodeoxygenation perpfomance in this experiment and its life-time could reach 160 h which was increased by about 40% and 130% to Ni2PPd/α-Al2O3 and Si O2-Ni2PPd/α-Al2O3.Citrate-complex method was adopted to prepare TiO2 CA modified Ni2PPd/α-Al2O3 catalyst. The results showed that TiO2 could lower the reduction temperature of the TiO2-CA modified catalyst precursors. And the grain sizes of Ni2 P in Ti O2-CA-Ni2PPd/α-Al2O3 were larger than that in TiO2-Ni2PPd/α-Al2O3 in varying degrees. And the TiO2-CA modified catalysts showed worse hydrodeoxygenation performance than TiO2-Ni2PPd/α-Al2O3.
