Oil pollution often occurs with the growth of the petroleum industry. In order to solve the oil pollution, novel oil absorption resin has become a hot research topic. But,the development of the high oil absorption resin is not ideal. High-performance resin should be studied to extend its application. In this dissertation, high oil absorption resin was modified by methacrylate, adamantane cage structure and the organic-bentonite by suspension polymerization. The oil absorbency and thermal stability of the resin were improved. The main contents of this thesis were summarized as follows:In first part, acrylic acid series high oil absorption resin was synthesized by suspension polymerization with stearyl methyl-acrylate(SMA), butyl methacrylate(BMA) and methyl methacrylate(MMA) as monomer, N,N-methylene bisacrylamide(MBA) as crosslinker, polyvinyl alxohol(PVA) as dispersing agent, benzoyl peroxide(BPO) as initiator. The effects of the stirring rate, water-oil ratio, cosslinker, monomer ratio on performance of the resin were studied. The experimental results show that,when the mass fraction of stearyl methylacrylate and crosslinker to the total monomers was 26.6 % and 0.6 %, the synthesized resin had good performance in oil absorption,its three-dimensional molecular network had hard skeleton and was easily stretching at the same time.In second part, bentonite was prepared and organically modified with HDTMA-Br.Then organic-bentonite was introduced into acrylic resin, which was synthesized by suspension polymerization of stearyl methylacrylate, butyl methacrylate and methyl methacrylate monomer. The influence of the organic-bentonite on the oil absorption capacity was studied. The structure and properties of the organic-bentonite were characterized by means of XRD and FT-IR. The XRD results showed that the interlayer space of H the organic-bentonite increased from1.21 nm to 2.1 nm. The addition of 1 wt% of the modified bentonite led to the best oil absorbency.In third part, the PU prepolymer was prepared by the reaction of polyol with the NCO group from TDI, and then the prepolymer was extended by 1,3-Adamantanediol,and a novel prepolymer with cage structure was obtained. A novel long-chained cross-linking agent modified with cage structure was synthesized by the reaction of hydroxyl from the 2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA) monomer with the preparedprepolymer. Acrylic resin with adamantane cage structure was synthesized by free radical polymerization of the novel long-chain cross-linker, stearyl methylacrylate and butyl methacrylate monomer. The effect of the content of adamantane on oil absorbency and thermal endurance was studied respectively. When content of crosslinker modified by adamantane was about 33 wt%, the resin showed the best oil absorbency. The structure and properties of resin were analyzed by means of DSC, TG and FT-IR. The results showed that thermal endurance for acrylic resin was improved by adamantane cage structure effectively. The fastest decomposition temperature of the titled acrylic resin increased from 320 ℃ to 400 ℃,and its thermal stability increased significantly.
