Medical dressings play a very important role in the process of wound healing, like physical barrier, absorb wound exudates, prevent wound infection, promote wound healing and so on. With the development of the theory of “Wet Therapy”, many kinds of functional wound dressing have been developed, but it is easy to get wound infection for the wound with more exudates, so developed antibacterial medical dressings has became a hot research. This paper prepared a medical foam dressing with reliable and sustained release antibacterial properties by hollow polyester fiber loaded with silver particles inside, polyether polyol, TDI, etc.The silver in the hollow polyester fiber is nascent silver particles, they can sustained release in damp and hot conditions through two ports so that they can play the antibacterial role. The polyether polyurethane has been widely applied in biological and medical treatment because of excellent biological compatibility, soft polyether polyurethane foam has excellent absorbency due to the absorbency. In this paper, using one-step method to prepare soft polyether polyurethane foam, and analyzed the influence of different technological parameter to the foam performance, then determine the best technological parameter. Use the best technological parameter to prepare medical foam dressing include different content and different length of hollow polyester fiber loaded with silver particles inside, then test the density, liquid diffusivity, silver release, biocompatibility, antimicrobial properties and so on of every sample.Through the research, this paper obtained some main conclusions as following:(1)Foaming technological parameters mainly include the temperature a of raw material and mould, and stirring speed. The temperature affect chain extension and foaming reaction, so it’s important to control temperature in different stages to make pore structure equably. Stirring speed can disperse materials and even can increase bubble nuclear. Through the test of the samples made by different technological parameters, can get the best technological parameter is: the temperature of raw material is 25℃, the temperature of mould is 60℃ and the stirring speed is 1700 rpm.(2) The larger the length-diameter is, the easier the fiber can get bend and snarling, then give rise to no fiber can be found in foam dressing.(3) The bubble nuclear is easy to form on the surface of the fiber, so around fiber, there are many bubbles, and it can make fiber touch exudation easily and conducive to the release of silver.(4) The release properties of silver depend on the number of ports. So can change the length and amount of fiber to control the number of ports, and avoid snarling between fibers.(5) The medical foam dressings made in this research have no cytotoxicity, and cells can grow well on every samples, This shows that every samples have great biocompatibility. Because silver in the fiber is not soluble antibacterial, the Haloes methods can’t be used to test the antimicrobial properties of samples, but through the shake-flask method, we can know that every sample has great antimicrobial properties, and antimicrobial properties will increase as time goes by.
