Carburizing and quenching is an important method in heat treatment technology, and has been widely used in automotive, aerospace and mechanical manufacturing and other fields. After carburizing and quenching, the strength, hardness and wear resistance of the parts have been greatly improved. However, with the development of science and technology, the traditional heat treatment technology has been unable to meet the needs of people. In order to better understand every detail of the heat treatment process, so as to better develop and improve the heat treatment technology, the computer technology is applied to the heat treatment process, numerical simulation technique appears. In this paper, based on the finite element analysis software ANSYS, the numerical simulation of the quenching process of carburizing parts is studied, so as to reduce the computing time of the computer in the numerical simulation process and improve the computational efficiency.According to the basic principle of heat transfer, thermal elastic plasticity theory and phase transition theory, the numerical simulation of temperature field in the quenching process of infinite long carburizing cylinder is carried out by using the finite element analysis software ANSYS. And temperature field simulation results is used as the initial load to model. The stress field in the quenching process of the infinite long carburizing cylinder was simulated, and the distribution of residual stress after the quenching process was analyzed. The influence of model size and thickness on the distribution of residual stress field is studied, which provides a reference for the establishment of the new model.A simplified model for numerical simulation of quenching of infinite long carburizing cylinder is established. The temperature field of the original model is usd as the initial load to the simplified model, and the stress field simulation is carried out on the simplified model. The simulation results of the simplified model are established, which are similar to the simulation results of the original model. At the same time, the influence of the model size and the thickness of the carburizing layer on the correction coefficient is analyzed.
