With the development of the society and living standards, and the continuously improvement of safety consciousness, the requirements for functional textiles and security especially for the fireproof performance is being pay more and more attention. It prompts the textile industry to focus on developping of flame retardant fibers. Among those high temperature resistant fibers the polyimide fiber gets rapidly development, but there are few researches for the quantitative analysis of polyimide fiber, it is necessary to put fowerd a responsible quantitative analysis for method of polyimide fiber to meet the requirement of its application.The chemical molecular structure and the synthetic process of high temperature resistant fiber of three kinds of polyimide fibers(P84, Suplon, Yilon) and PPS, etc. are introduced, and later the expections and assumptions combing with the textile fiber qualitative quantitative analysis method are discussed in the first chapter.The characteristics, such as fiber longitudinal shape, the shape of cross section, and chemical properties, the infrared absorption spectrum, thermo-gravimetric curve, etc. for these three kinds of polyimide fiber(P84, Suplon, Yilon) is summarized by polyimide fiber combustion test, microscope test, chemical dissolution test, absorption experiment and thermogravimetric analysis in the secondcharper. The qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis for polyimide fiber is gained by chromatography experiments. Through the chromatography experiments the best pyrolysis temperature is observed and the feature pyrolysis products are researched. For the analysis test, microscope test and chemical dissolution test are employed to test the fibers firstly, if the sample is composed of single type high temperature resistant performance of organic synthetic fiber, thermogravimetric experiment, infrared, or thermal cracking test will be followed to verify whether the fiber is polyimide fibers or not. If the sample is composed of more types of fibers, the chromatography experiment is adopted. That is to say if there is phthalates formyl imine(C8H5NO2) and N- phenyl phthalates formyl imine(C14H9NO2) in the pyrolysis products of mix fibers, there is polyimide fiber in the mix fibers.Firstly the quality correction coefficients for the three kinds of polyimide fibers are obtained via various test conditions experiments in the third chapter, then the quantitative analysis method of polyimide fiber and other fibers are set based on the quality correction coefficient, and finally the reliability of the analysis is proved via the experiments between polyimide fiber and other fibers.
