In order to solve the faced energy problems which are resulted in the high-speed developing economics, the fully-mechanized caving face technology popularization and application has become the developing direction of the coal mining in our country. But along with the increasing mining depth and the strength mining, low coal recovery rate and the gas problem restricted seriously the high-production, high-efficiency and high-safety development of our China’s mines. It carried out without coal pillar along the gob-side entry retaining technology. Such way is one of the most effective solutions to the coal mine sustainable and rapid development, meanwhile is also the developing direction of the green mining of coal mine in our country.Based on S1206 fully-mechanized caving face of yuwu coal mine, this paper makes full use of the theories of rock mechanics and numerical optimizing analysis, numerical analysis and locale experiments. It makes full study of the mechanics of the relief retaining roadways in fully-mechanized caving face, the surrounding rock control technology, supporting parameters and so on for the key and technical problem. The main research results are as follows:(1)Using the theory of mechanics analysis for the reasonable support resistance and the width of filling body, it gets S1206 face filling body of cutting resistance of 7320 KN/m, the filling-body width on the theoretical calculation results is 1.34 m.(2)Stability of coal for the help of analysis, it is concluded that under the condition of no support, coal to help limit equilibrium section width of 3.1m,supporting conditions, the existing coal help limit equilibrium zone width is 3.39 m.(3)Using numerical simulation method for filling body of different width along the rock stress distribution law of gas thick coal seam composite roof condition, it were determined under the reasonable width of filling body and intensity. In combination with the results of numerical simulation, when the high water material water cement ratio of 1.5:1, the width of the filling body is1.5 m.(4)Based on the rock characteristics of the 1206 fully-mechanized caving face, it analyzed the support technology problem, and identified the supporting technology of the specific design parameters, the on-site industrial results demonstrated the design schemes and control countermeasures controlled the stability of surrounding rock, achieved the success of gob-side entry retaining technology, and the field application has achieved remarkable technological economic yielding.
