The anthracite is made into the active powder filler to replace carbon black and improve the properties of rubber composites. The coal modified by pyridine-xylene showed the highest swelling ratio and the best laminated structure. Its inter layer spacing was enlarged. When the coals were intercalated by the polymer of acrylamide, the diffraction peak of the graphite shifted to the small angle, and the aromatic layers were effectively intercalated by the monomer. The degree of intercalation increased at first and then decreased as the increasing content of the coal. The grainsize accumulative percentage of less than 2μm for the modified coal powder was about 91%, when the coal was modified by the combined modifiers of sulfonate-TB. There was little mutual contact among these modified coal particles and the flake-like particles were well dispersed. The tensile strength of the rubber filled with LA-TA modified coal powder was 15.8MPa, The modified coal was endowed with the good reinforcement capability, and matched with the carbon black-330. The relative permeability of the rubber composites filled by modified coals was only 6.72%compared that of the pure rubber. The modified coal/rubber composites were of good gas barrier property. A new method was obtained through the process of intercalation-ball milling, which can be used to prepare the coal base materials with reinforcement and barrier function. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | anthracite, swelling, intercalation, grinding modification, reinforcement property | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
