| With the characteristics of fast-growing and high-yield, soft material quality, stable size, beautiful texture, elegant color, easy to dry and small shrinkage coefficient, paulownia is widely distributed and can be widely applied in several aspects, including construction, furniture, transportation, musical instruments and interior design,. However, because paulownia wood is easy to change color and the material quality is loose, it seriously affects the utilization of the paulownia wood. At present, only a small number of paulownia wood in our country are used in the production of wood-based panel and paulownia wood splice plate. The small dimension wood and brushwood can not be fully utilized and there is large surplus, causing the serious waster of the paulownia resources. Therefore, it is a problem urgent to be solved to give full development and utilization of the paulownia.According to the characteristics of low density, soft material quality and easy to be compressed of the paulownia wood, this paper intends to develop a kind of particleboard with low density, and relatively good strength by taking the small dimension paulownia wood and brushwood as the raw materials, so as to provide the theoretical basis for the development and comprehensive utilization of the paulownia wood.Starting from studying the relevant physical and mechanical properties of paulownia material, and based on the preliminary exploratory experiment, this paper adopts the method of orthogonal test to research: ① It discusses the impact of the factors, such as the density of the particle board, resin consumption, hot pressing pressure, tree age, and wood parts, on the basic properties of the three-layer common paulownia particleboard; ② It discusses the impact of the factors, such as the density of the particle board, resin consumption, and hot pressing pressure, on the basic properties of the paulownia particleboard with homogeneous structure; ③ It discusses the impact of the factors, such as the additive amount of ammonium polyphosphate, density of the particleboard, and resin consumption, on the basic properties of the three-layer common paulownia particleboard. At the same time, it adopts the method of single factor experiment to research the impact of ammonium polyphosphate on the flame retardant efficiency of the particleboard, it concludes the following results:(1) The paulownia wood has the features of soft material quality, low density and not high strength. With the increase of the tree age, the mechanical strength of the wood has a significant increase, and the strength-to-weight ratio can approach the medium-level wood.(2) Making particleboard with paulownia wood as the raw material, the hot pressing pressure below than common wood particleboard,and the wood shavings compression ratio will more higher.(3) Making particleboard with paulownia wood as the raw material, the resin consumption of particle should be appropriately added in accordance with the low density of the paulownia wood,when count basis on the percentage of quality; otherwise, it will have a serious influence on mechanical strength of the board.(4) According to the easy compress characteristics of paulownia shavings, it can adopt the gross particle to make the particleboard with homogeneous structure, whose surface is smooth and level without sags and crests. Its surface can still maintain the light texture of paulownia, which is beautiful and elegant.(5) The optimal processing parameters of paulownia particleboard within the scope of the test, the three-layer particleboard:density 0.45g/cm3, resin consumption 15%, hot pressing pressure 2.25MPa.The particleboard with homogeneous structure:density 0.4g/cm3, resin consumption 14%, hot pressing pressure 2.25MPa.The flame-retarding paulownia:density 0.4g/cm3, resin consumption 20%, flame retardant amount 20%.the basic properties of the paulownia particleboard are all can be reach the national standard. |
