Pu’er cake tea is a famous tea in history with strong regional characteristics and prominent functions. With the trend of economic globalization, Pu’er cake tea is gaining increasing popularity among consumers. However, the current production process of Pu’er cake tea can no longer meet the increasing market demands. Pu’er cake tea needs to implement automatic production. The automated quantitative measure of Pu’er raw tea is an important part of automated production. According to the automatic quantitative requirements of Pu’er raw tea in a continuous production line for Pu’er cake tea, we propose the combination scale to weigh raw tea based on reference material.According to the actual situation of Pu’er cake tea continuous production line and the existing combination scale, the principle, mechanical structure and control system about combination scale were researched in this thesis. Thus combination scale would be well used in the continuous production line of Pu’er cake tea. The main research contents are as follows:(1) By reading a large number of relevant literatures, the working principle of the combination scale mathematical problems were analyzed. And the probability calculation formula of qualified combination was derived. By comparing the combination regimens, the optimum combination regimen was elected using the probability calculation formula and the requirements of Pu’er cake tea continuous production line.(2) Combined with the existing combination scale and the selected program, three-dimensional model was established under the guidance of Top-Down design ideas. The major parts of combination scale were optimized considering the characteristics of raw tea. Thus the structure of the existing combination scale can meet the requirements preferably.(3) Through the comparative analysis of control schemes, PLC control mode was selected in the control system of combination scale. And reasonable hardware configuration was selected for the control system. Thus a foundation was laid for the combination scale control system.(4) According to the needed function of the combination scale control system, Step7 software was used to write the PLC control program about the combination scale control system. And the main program modules and their functions were described in detail. In addition, the PLC control program of combination scale was simulated using the PLCSIM software in the thesis. The accuracy of the combination scale PLC control program was verified. At last, a composite scale monitoring system was created using Wincc7.0 software. Thus a premise is provided for combination scale automation work.In line with the actual conditions of the continuous production line for Pu’er cake tea and the existing combination balance, the principle, mechanical structure and control system were researched about combination scale in this thesis. Thus the existing combination scale would be used in Pu’er cake tea in the automatic production line preferably. At the same time, a reference is provided for the upgrading of Pu’er cake tea production technology and the development of combination scale in this research.
