Natural fiber(cotton fiber,silk) has the advantages of hygroscopic, moisture pereability, and has great nature to skin, It is one of the most used fabrics in people’s daily life, and be loved by consumers. However, when natural fabrics under sunlight or water washing conditions, which would affect their handfeel and color fastness, moreover, under the condition of UV, the silk fabrics easily turn yellow. Therefore, its very important to maintain the excellent performance of original fabrics by functional modification.Nano Ti O2 is an important inorganic functional material, which has been widely used as dye-sensitized solar cells(DSSC), photocatalyst, UV-resistant agent and so on. The field of nano Ti O2 has attracted a great deal of interest in order to enhance its properties and extend its utilities by constructing special architecture of the material in recent years.In this paper, Tetrabuty titanate was used as ingredient, and HBP-NH2 as a size controller agent was introduced into the process. Superfine Ti O2 nanowires were prepared by hydrothermal method inducing sol-gel process. The factors on the formation of superfine Ti O2 nanowires and the formation mechanism of the superfine nanowires was elucidated and discussed. It is found that introducing HBP-NH2 with a concentration of 100 g/L can significantly decrease the diameter of Ti O2 nanowires and increase the quality of Ti O2 nanowires: In the presence of HBP-NH2, single-crystalline anatases with an average diameter of 80 nm and a length around 10-20 μm were achieved and it also had good eveness and stability. The obtained Ti O2 nanowires were characterized by SEM, TEM and XRD.The padding was enforced on cotton and silk fabrics for functional finishing in this experiment, endowing fabric with the ultraviolet resistance and self-cleaning properties, which were analysed by UPF value and other methods. The results indicated that Ti O2 nanowires could attached to the fabric surface effectively, and the fabrics had good ultraviolet resistance and self-cleaning properties. The UPF value of cotton fabric and silk fabric reached 80.5 and 56.2, respectively. And after 30 times of washing, the fabrics still had preferable ultraviolet resistance. In addition, the functional cotton fabric and silk fabric which dropped with chili oil, after 7 and 11 hours under the irradiation of ultraviolet light, the surface stains automatically cleaned by the fabric itself.
