At present most major oil fields in China began useing techniques of enhanced oil recovery crude oil extraction, resulting in increasing amount of aged oil. Aged oil is emulsified and difficult to break, and hazards oilfield equipment. Thus it reduces the efficiency of oil production, and cause economic loss. Conventional treatment methods cannot effectively handle the aged oil. Chlorine Dioxide, as a common oxidizing agent, has broad applications. It handles aged oil from aspects of oxidized degradation and demulsification. It achieves the goal of efficient processing of aged oil, improving economic efficiency, and re-entering the gathering and transportation system and meet the subsequent processing target. This paper focuses on aged oil gathering and transportation system. It analyzes effects of Chlorine Dioxide treatment for oil gathering and transportation system through analyzing nature, simulating aged oil, studying mechanism and processing aged oil. First it analyzes physical and chemical properties of aged oil from gathering and transportation system.According to reference material and analysis, PAM and FeS are two main factors that affect aged oil demulsification.By simulating aged oil, this paper evaluates Chlorine Dioxide oxidation effects with different concentrations of PAM and FeS. And then this paper evaluates aged oil gathering and transportation system oxidative effect with Chlorine Dioxide from both physical and chemical properties. Finally, it makes a discussion about mechanism of Chlorine Dioxide treatment for aged oil.The results show that after the Chlorine Dioxide treatment, density, viscosity, water content and other indicators of aged oil are significantly decreased. Aged oil breaks emulsion, and meets the requirements of re-entering gathering the system. According to the study, both FeS emulsifier solid particles’ strengthen effects and polyacrylamide strengthen effects greatly affect the aged oil demulsification emulsion. On the one hand Chlorine Dioxide, mainly through reduced degradation of polyacrylamide polymer to strengthen the role of the aging oil to reach the purpose of demulsification a short chain of small molecules or direct degradation of nitrate, on the other hand by the oxidation of FeS ferric ion and sulfuric acid ions reduce water interfacial film strength of the oil has reached thedemulsification aged purposes.
