In the process of water flooding, the reason of the gravity difference between the oil and water, in the vertical direction, the utilization degree of the oil layer is different, the contradiction between the layer and the layer is prominent. In the plane, the contradiction is still outstanding, the complex reservoir model leads to the differences between the sand body porosity, permeability, oil saturation and connectivity, there is still a low degree of use or not to use the phenomenon. Using horizontal well development can effectively use this part of the reserves, so this paper mainly studies the optimization design of horizontal wells and economic limits.First, the developing situation of the area and the effect was evaluated. The utilization of reserves, energy status and development effect are analyzed respectively. Results show that the area P â…  21-2 sand body reserves producing degree of high area whether water flooding phase and polymer flooding development effect are good.Secondly, The establishment of the work area and the numerical simulation model of fitting with the fitting results by the study of history of residual oil distribution. The remaining oil distribution of each small layer was determined, and the control effect of the interlayer on the remaining oil was analyzed, established the boundaries of the remaining oil enrichment areas and divided the remaining oil enrichment areas, preferably a dimensionless interlayer of large area and high oil saturation as a potential area of horizontal wells.Thirdly, technical policy and economic limits for horizontal wells are studied. Given the technology policy reasonable boundaries, and the horizontal wells and injection production pattern matching relationship, horizontal section length, differential pressure, extract time was studied; the risk of horizontal wells is studied.
