Composite thermal insulation material is a kind of new material which is made of inorganic thermal insulation material and organic thermal insulation material. This material has the advantages of inorganic thermal insulation materials and organic materials. The material is characterized in itssmall heat conductivity coefficient, lightweight, flame retardancy. Curingunder certain conditions, thermosetting phenolic resin can form a network structure, which would make the material possessed good strength. Glass beads is cedariteore by cascade electric heating, from the inside and on the surface of vitrified expanded, with a smooth surface, low porosity, and lightweight characteristics. This paper uses the thermosetting phenolic resin and glass beads as the main raw material the lightweight composite insulation materials. And the related factors affecting the preparation are discussed. The main contents of the paper include:(1) to explore the effect of a various single component and two-component curing agent on the properties of materials, four kind of acid which is convient in lab;(2) on the basis of determining the optimal curing agent, the main raw material ratio and heating molding temperature, molding heating time, the amount of curing agent, preheating on temperature, preheating time;(3) orthogonal experiment based on single factor experiment, and the experimental conditions are optimized, and select the best combination of parameters, the temperature of the heating molding, heating forming time and the dosage of the curing agent. The interaction between factors were discussed, using visual analysis and variance analysis of experimental conditions were investigated. The results show that the heating molding temperature and curing agent are significant factors influencing the performance of composite insulation materials;(4) on the physical properties of materials (apparent density, thermal conductivity, contact angle). The mechanical properties (flexural strength, compressive strength) and microstructure test and characterization;(5) based on the results of orthogonal test, the toughening agent and foaming agent suitable for composite insulation materials, toughness and apparent density were optimized. The experimental results show that the optimal preparation conditions is: thermosetting phenolic resin and glass beads of mass ratio of 7:2; thermosetting phenolic resin preheating temperature of 50℃; preheating time,5min; the dosage of the curing agent,12%; heating and forming temperature,120℃; heating molding,40min; microwave heating time,4min.The performance of composite insulation materials, the apparent density is 289.39 kg·m-3, the coefficient of thermal conductivity is 0.039 W/(m-K), compressive strength is 1.613 MPa, the flexural strength is 1.479 MPa, the contact angle is 110.8°.The preparation of lightweight composite insulation material with quality light, small coefficient of thermal conductivity, the advantages of waterproof, flame retardancy, and has practical application value.
