Effects of surfactin on growth of pakchoi and other crops and application of surfactin on fertilizer were studied in this paper. It provided the basis for improving utilization rate and development of related additives.Arabidopsis, pakchoi and wheat seeds were treated with different concentrations surfactin using germination rate and bio mass as evaluating indexes. When surfactin concentration was 0.4 g/L the crops germination and biomass reached the maximum. And lower concentration of surfactin was beneficial to seed germination and seeding growth, while higher surfactin led to inhibition. The determination of the enzyme activity in the experment showed that amylase activity, peroxidase activity (POD) and catalase activity (CAT) were increased by 103.02%,71.74% and 73.95% compared with the control group when surfactin concentration was 0.6 g/L and soaked with 3 days.Arabidopsis, pakchoi and wheat seeds were treated with different concentrations surfactin in solutions containing Cd, Cu or Pb using germination rate and biomass as evaluating indexes. The data indicated that germination of seeds and growth of seedings were promoted weakly by using lower concentration treatment of three heavy metals, while higher surfactin led to inhibition. With increasing of surfactin concentration, inhibition on crops of heavy metals alleviated. The germination rate, root length and other indicators reached the maximum when the concentration was 0.4 g/L. Surfactin changed the chelate in vitro and root menmbrane permeability by analysis experments.Effects of surfactin on soil nutrient loss and water evaporation were studied by leaching and water evaporation experiments. The results revealed that surfactin played a beneficial role in nitrogen fixation and phosphorus dissolving which could lower soluble nitrate content and improve soluble phosphate content in the soil. When surfactin concentration was 0.4 g/L, the rate of nitrogen fixation and phosphorus dissolving increased 42.07% and 89.27%, respectively. At the same time, it was easily for the water evaporating when the soil moisture content was above 10% under surfactin. However, when the soil moisture content was less than 10% the result was the opposite. The effects of surfactin on membrane permeability, stomatal opening, wetting area, waxy layer of leaf, surface tension of foliar fertilizer solution and plant growth and nutrient absorption were studied in pakchoi. Results indicated that 0.4 g/L surfactin could promote seedling growth and biomass and increase absorption of B, Fe and Mn by 85.31%,26.01% and 231.48%, respectively. And we found that the absorption of spraying liquid and leaf fertilizer could be promoted by surface which could reduce the tension of foliar fertilizer solution, dissolve leaf waxy layer, open the stomatal opening, improve wetting area and increase the permeability of nutrients.
