Coal, as the main energy source in China, has been occupying the most important position in China’s primary energy structure. As of 2015, China’s proven reserves of coal is 1.53 trillion tons. Only about 4% among them can be be open pit mining, underground mining is still the most important way of coal mining. With the depletion of the shallow coal mine resources, the coal mining area has been gradually developed to the deep part of the mining area. Because of the thick layer and high stress in deep mining, the change rules of stress and displacement of rock mass is different from that of shallow coal mining. There are also differences in mined out collapse caused by mining. Therefore, the study on the surface subsidence laws has become an important issue to protect the coal mine production and the normal life of the mining area.In this paper, the deep coal seam underlying a wind farm in PingLuo County Ningxia was taken as the object of study. A combination of probability integral method and numerical simulation method was used to study the deep gently inclined coal seam mining surface movement rules after mined by two mining method, which were long wall method and the strip method, and the visualization computing software was developed. The main study contents and results are as follows:1. Based on the probability integral method, the law of surface movement and the influence on the surface wind power plant foundation were analyzed and summarized. The results show that the shape and size of the surface subsidence basin after mining with the long wall method is approximately the same as that of the subsidence basin after mining with the strip method. But the deformation value of the ground motion after mining with the long wall method is larger than that of the ground surface movement which is mined by strip mining. The surface subsidence deformation has great influence on the surface wind power plant foundation, and the influence of the incline deformation is small.2. Based on the numerical simulation method, the law of surface movement in the mining of gently inclined coal seam was studied. After mining with the method of long wall mining, the deformation of the ground surface is larger, and the deformation of the surface of the north and the south is not uniform. Although the deformation of ground surface is greatly reduced after mining, the problem of wave-shaped subsidence basin is also produced.3. Two kinds of surface movement research methods, which are probability integral method and numerical simulation method were compared. Through the analysis, it is concluded that the probability integral method is more efficient in the calculation process. In terms of the calculation results, the calculated results of the surface movement by using the probability integral method are larger than those calculated by the numerical simulation method.4. Based on VB language, the surface movement calculation software using probability integration method was developed. And on the basis of calculation, through the software called Matlab graphics platform to achieve the visualization of the results of the calculation. After development, the software has the advantages of fast calculation, accurate data, intuitive results and so on.
