A Study On Enlightenments Of The Artistic Expressions Of Huaiyang Clay Dog For Shirt Decoration Language

With the growing call for the upgrading and transformation in the costume industry of China in recent years, it has emerged as a main measure of cultivating the powerful independent brand and switching from the brand competitiveness to brand competitiveness so as to improve the overall competitiveness of the whole industry. However, it should be noted that there has been a large gap between the independent costume brand of China and its foreign counterpart for a long time, whether it is for the brand value and technological content. Hence, it has also become a common scene that the independent brand in China has lacked in the cultural essence. In the meanwhile, the traditional national costume has been also gradually marginalized with times, which means that the awareness of the traditional costume with the Chinese symbol has become increasingly weaker. Under this huge background, the costume featured by being national has stood out as the major measure to enhance the cultural essence of the brand. What is more, more efforts should be made to explore, refine and attach the local culture as well as seek the cultural inheritance beyond the costume, which will be of great value to create the Chinese costume brand with ever-lasting vitality.Based on the research background, this paper has made a study of the enlightenment of the traditional elements of Chinese national costumes on the design of modern costume. By refining the element of Huaiyang Clay Dog and choosing the form of shirt in the modern costume, this paper has combined them into the research subject. As a local specialty of folk culture, Huaiyang Clay Dog has fully reflected the essential feature of Chinese traditional culture. The shirt which is seen as a typical foreign import in the Chinese modern costume has been also among the few of western costumes which retain the cultural essence of the western mainstream clothes. Hence, the interaction of Clay Dog and shirt, also known as the local and the foreign, is in essence the transformation for different cultures from isolation into communication as well as from conflict into integration. It is also the process that the current Chinese costume industry has to face and go through.This paper has analyzed the artistic feature of Huaiyang Clay Dog in terms of the appearance, color and pattern and also summarized the basic concept, classification and decoration language of the shirt. What is more, this paper has also made a comparison of the decoration language between China and the western countries based on the future path of national costume under the influence of the foreign costume, which is also the original purpose of the study. By analyzing the advantage, disadvantage and difference between them, this paper has also sought to explore the theoretical basis of the national costume development featured by drawing on the western experience. Under the enlightenment of the appearance art of Clay Dog, this paper has also absorbed the decoration concept of the shirt with the overall structure of the external complicity and internal simplicity as well as the balance between the exaggeration and confinement. After achieving the graphic extraction of the characteristic elements of Clay Dog from the local and global view, this paper has also come up with the design of shirt pattern by combing with the modern fashionable elements. With the assistance of the theory acclamation and practical platform of designing the brand of men’s shirt, the author has integrated the commercial elements into the work and launched it into the market so as to further test the research result.
