With the rapid development of society, aluminum alloy is becoming the second largest after steel material. Aluminum has been widely used in aerospace, marine, automotive and other fields because of its smaller density and higher specific strength. But the low hardness, poor wear resistance and corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy greatly limits its application, as well as its weak temperature resistance and thermal shock resistance. Micro-arc oxidation technology developed from anodizing. It can be appropriate to improve the surface properties of the alloy by adjusting the components of the electrolyte, and it has been widely used to improve the surface properties of aluminum. But cast aluminum-silicon alloy containing more silicon element which causes the larger porosity and affects micro-arc oxidation.This paper uses alloy ZLSi7 Cu2Mg as the matrix, constant current power supply and constant voltage power supply as supply, Na2SiO3 system as based electrolyte. To get the deposition conditions comparison of different types of electrolyte, power parameters and electrical parameters. It respectively uses electrolyte parameters, constant current and constant voltage electrical parameters as its factors, which is given three levels. In post-test analysis, this experiment mainly takes advantage of film thickness measurement, XRD and SEM to find the relationship between test factors and film. This paper shows the best electrolyte parameters, optimum constant current electrical parameters and optimum constant voltage electrical parameters and the comparison between the constant current source and constant voltage power supply.It also specifically studied the impact of glycerol and electrolyte temperature to micro-arc oxidation in this research. At last, this research added ZrO 2 powder to based electrolyte to test the feasibility of this method to add a layer of ZrO2 by XRD analysis.
